USS Valkyrie

Welcome to the USS Valkyrie

Our Sim

The USS Valkyrie is a Centaur Class Starship. Her mission is primarily one of exploration and discovery, but she also provides emergency response and defence to the United Federation of Planets and it's citizens.

The year is 2393, and after years of rebuilding after conflicts with powers such as The Dominion & The Borg, Starfleet is ready to push back out into the unknown, throw back the veil of mystery and make new discoveries. At the same time, there are fresh challenges facing the fleet close to home, from dangers on a planetary scale to fresh tensions with bordering empires.

Based out of Deep Space Twelve, a station on the edge of Federation space, our missions can range from exploration to search and rescue to diplomacy or even combat, so there should be something for everyone. We aim to provide an engaging sim with something for every character to do. Creativity is encouraged, if you have an idea for a mission, a story or a subplot, we'll try our best to make it work within the sim.

If you're interested in joining our sim, we'd love to have you aboard, just fill in one of our applications. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Once again, welcome aboard the USS Valkyrie!

Captain Charles Kincaid
Commanding Officer

Hi everyone,

With that last post, we've wrapped up the mission. I'd like to thank you all for putting out such high quality writing and making this such a successful mission!

Please wrap up any posts you're working on for the mission as soon as you can. We'll have a little down time before we begin the next Mission, so feel free to write any kind of character development you'd like, or jump into Deep Space 12. As always, I'm available for joint posts with any of my characters, or anything else you need.

Thanks all!

Friends,

After a successful survey on Obsidian Fleet Community Engagement, we have now spun up several Forum discussions as well as a Discord channel. We want YOUR feedback - everyone. COs, forward this on down to your players if you can.

We have setup several topics in the forums surrounding themes from the survey and/or other discussions. We want everyone's engagement and involvement - we're in this community together. Some of you may think we don't listen, but hopefully this process is showing you that we do.

So hop over to the Forums here http://forums.obsidianfleet.net/viewforum.php?f=110 and chime in where you feel comfortable. Let's try to focus on how to move forward, and let's be courteous and constructive in our replies.

If you want to have a side-bar discussion on Discord, check out the #engagement channel. We just want to make sure some of those discussion results end up back in the forums for all to see.

Get engaged - it's YOUR community, too!

» Obsidian Fleet Short Story Competition

Posted on Tue May 9th, 2017 @ 6:28pm by Commander Charles Kincaid in General News

Through June 2017 Obsidian Fleet will be holding its first, annual, Short Story competition with a new prestigious Golden PADD Award given to the winner and all the bragging rights that come with it.
This contest comes as part of new community engagement incentives to bring people together and show the talent within Obsidian Fleet.

The short story will be less than 7500 words and be based around our beloved genre, Star Trek. The stories shall be judged by a panel, who will remain anonymous to protect the integrity of the judging process, and set a list of criteria where vital points could be earned, or lost!

The very best will enter the final stage, and the winner will be announced on Obsidian Day (29 July) as part of our annual celebration of the Fleet's Formation.

Interested? We will be releasing more information and how to enter in the next week so keep an eye out on IFS!
